Living in the Now

Dear Reader,

You can only do what you can do today. You can’t do it tomorrow or yesterday, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow will be today.

We all spend so much time worrying about what we have to do. We worry about how we’ll do it, if we can do it, if we are doing the right thing, how it will work out, and so on.

All you can really do is live in the now. The now is real.

Do the best you can nowstop worrying about tomorrow and the rest will take care of itself, you’ll see.

Just Be

Dear Reader,

Sometimes what you need is right there in front of you, you just can’t see it because you’re clouding it over with worry and stress; negative thoughts swamp your mind until it’s easier to let them.

But you don’t have to.

Sometimes all you have to do is just beLet whatever is passing pass, be with it, but don’t let it take over. And know that at some point, at some time, things will be different. They will be better.

So hold on to what feels good. Things will pan out how they are meant to; you just have to let them.

Happiness

Dear Reader,

Happiness is like a butterfly; try and catch it and it will fly away.

If you find your butterfly, enjoy it. It might fly away, but it will come back again.

You can’t force happiness; it’s a feeling, so enjoy it while it lands.

Don’t Hide

Dear Reader,

There will always be people who frown upon your behaviour because they expect you to behave as they would. We are all guilty of this at times.

Don’t let anyone try and make you feel guilty for not doing something the way they would; it is a closed mind that forces a way upon another.

Don’t hide who you are to please someone else. You are you and they are them. And ask yourself this; would you really want to be them anyway?

Time

Dear Reader,

Time; it can do many things. It can heal us, it can pressure us and it can cloud us. We think we have all the time in the world, and in some ways we do. But what about using it wisely?

Don’t waste time doing nothing, if nothing is not what you want to do.

Don’t waste time pining for what has been and gone, if it is keeping you there.

Don’t waste time feeling pressured by something that exists, only in your mind.

Take time, go with it and let it work for you.

Rock Bottom

Dear Reader,

There may be a time in your life when you fall; when you lose everything you ever had; a person, a job, your health, your mind. There may be a time you don’t recognise yourself, a time when you feel ashamed, worthless, invisible. If that time is now, then this time is special.  Use it. Use it to see yourself again with fresh eyes.

So lift yourself up with your own arms, climb the rocks that made you slip, walk the road you got lost on and find your way.

When you’ve hit rock bottom; turn it around and you’ll be at the top.

Hope

Dear Reader,

Hope is one of the most powerful emotions we have. If we don’t have hope, we lose ourselves.

Hope gives us the light we need to look for things in the dark, it gives us the strength to hold on when things seem to be slipping through our fingers and it gives us courage to face things when times get tough.

When the lights go out, find your hope – it’s closer than you think.
